MANILA, Philippines – Heads up, train commuters!

Railway operations will be suspended for four days in the observance of Holy Week 2025 and to conduct their annual maintenance activities.

LRT-1

LRT-1 private operator Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC) announced that operations will be temporarily suspended from April 17 (Holy Thursday) to April 20, 2025 (Easter Sunday) to give way to its annual maintenance activities and system upgrades.

Prior to the temporary suspension, the LRT-1 will follow its normal operating hours from April 14 to 16, 2025 (Holy Monday to Holy Wednesday). The first trips will depart simultaneously from Dr. Santos Station and Fernando Poe Jr. Station at 4:30 AM. The last trips will leave Dr. Santos Station at 10:30 PM and Fernando Poe Jr. Station at 10:45 PM.

"All LRT-1 trains will undergo thorough testing and inspection before the normal operation of the entire line resumes on 21 April 2025 (Monday)," LRMC said.

LRT-2

The LRT-2 will also suspend its operations from April 17 to April 20 to undergo its annual maintenance activities during Holy Week.

Regular operations will resume on Monday, April 21, starting at 5:00 AM.

MRT-3

MRT-3 operations will be suspended from Maundy Thursday, April 17, until Easter Sunday, April 20, to give way for the rail line's annual Holy Week maintenance activities.

Extended weekday operating hours will be observed on Wednesday, April 16, with the last train trips at 10:30 p.m. from North Avenue Station, and 11:09 p.m. from Taft Avenue Station.

MRT-3 will resume its normal operations on Monday, April 21, with its first train trips scheduled at 4:30 am from North Avenue Station, and 5:05 am from Taft Avenue Station.

PNR

Train operations in Laguna, Quezon, Camarines Sur, and Albay will be suspended from April 17 to 20 in observance of Holy Week.

The affected routes are:

  • Calamba to Lucena
  • Naga to Sipocot
  • Naga to Legazpi

Services will resume on Monday, April 21.
