MANILA, Philippines – Milk tea is among the top craze food items these days, but is it worth jumping into the sea if your significant other doesn’t get you one?
Well, that’s the question that netizens posed after a woman allegedly did it because her boyfriend didn’t buy her a cup.
In a viral post by Jeffrey Recentes Cabilin based in Dipolog City, Zamboanga del Norte, he shares a video of what appears to be a rescue mission set close to the shore. A man appears to be having a difficult time helping a woman climb a ladder to take her safely back to the top of the sloping seawall.
Although the post didn’t clearly indicate what had happened because it was too short, the clarification was later shared by News5. According to the report, the uploader told the news team that the woman allegedly jumped into the water because her boyfriend refused to buy her the sweet concoction.
The uploader had also identified the guy in the video as the woman’s boyfriend, adding that they saw him hurry and run towards the woman when she jumped in.

While the guy appears to have a difficult time getting the woman up, he didn’t give up. Big waves also affected the guy’s rescue mission, leading to people calling the local authorities so they could give the couple a hand.
Thanks to the rescue team, the woman was given a life jacket to ensure her safety.
According to the post by News5, the uploader had also alleged that the woman had been intoxicated. This might be the reason why she overreacted when she didn’t get the milk tea she wanted to drink.

The viral video gained mixed reactions, with many people having a good laugh over the woman’s alleged shallow reason for jumping into the water.
Others encouraged the guy to think harder before going deeper into his relationship with a woman who would do such a drastic thing over something so “small” or “insignificant.”
There were also those who applauded the guy for being chivalrous despite the embarrassment he was likely feeling over the situation.
