MANILA, Philippines – Several areas have suspended face-to-face classes on Monday, March 3, 2025, due to the expected high heat index throughout the day.
The heat index, also known as the "feels-like" temperature, is calculated based on the air temperature and the relative humidity, reflecting the temperature the human body actually perceives.
This list will be updated as announcements are made by local or national authorities.
Metro Manila
- Caloocan City – kinder to senior high school levels in public schools to shift to asynchronous learning; private school at discretion of school authorities
- City of Manila – afternoon classes in all levels (public and private)
- Las Piñas City – face-to-face classes in all levels (public and private); shift to online or asynchronous learning
- Malabon City – all levels, public and private; to shift to modular distance learning
- Marikina City – early dismissal (11 a.m.) for morning shift; cancelled classes for afternoon shift, all levels, public and private
- Parañaque City – face-to-face classes in all levels, public and private; to shift to online or asynchronous learning
- Valenzuela City – kinder to senior high school, public and private; to shift to online or asynchronous learning
Central Luzon
- Arayat, Pampanga – afternoon face-to-face classes in all levels, public
- Angeles City – afternoon face-to-face classes in all levels, public and private
Based on PAGASA's heat index forecast, the heat index at the following synoptic stations is expected to reach the "danger" range of 42 to 51 degrees Celsius on Monday:
- Science Garden Quezon City - 46°C
- Clark Airport, Pampanga - 46°C
- CLSU Muñoz, Nueva Ecija - 45°C
