LIST: 100 best universities in the Philippines 2025

MANILA, Philippines – The University of the Philippines (UP)-Diliman topped the list of 100 best Philippine universities this 2025, according to independent metric-based ranking organization EduRank.

According to the latest rankings published on March 2, UP Diliman placed 366th out of 5,830 Asian universities and was ranked 1,348th out of 14,131 universities in the 2025 global rating.

De La Salle University (DLSU) - Manila came in second place in the Philippines and 504th across Asia. It was ranked 1,728th among universities worldwide.

Ateneo de Manila University - Manila secured the third spot. It ranked 565th in Asia and 1,903rd globally.

The University of Santo Tomas (UST) was ranked fourth in the country and 834th in Asia. It ranked 2,628th globally.

UP Los Baños came in fifth in the country and 882nd in Asia. It was placed 2,774th on the 2025 global university list.

EduRank stated that the rankings are determined by analyzing 850,000 citations from 80,000 academic publications across 229 universities in the Philippines, the popularity of 1,163 recognized alumni, and the largest available reference database.

EduRank added that the best cities to study in the Philippines based on the number of universities and their ranks are in Quezon City, Manila, Los Baños, and Cebu.
