'Tuksuhan to totohanan': High school ‘marriage booth’ leads to a real-life wedding

Do high school ‘marriage booths’ ever work? Well, for most, it doesn’t. Yet for Haruka Yata Pamintuan and husband, Edward Joseph Pamintuan, it’s a fairytale come to life!

The newlyweds were recently featured on the Philippine Daily Inquirer, as the bride shared how they had jokingly ‘gotten married’ in a high school marriage booth even after being ex-lovers for over a year.

She explained that despite having broken up, they had remained friends at the time. So, they both still seemed to be laughing at their predicament as they walked the aisle towards the altar of the high school ‘marriage booth.’

The couple is from Cabanatuan, Nueva Ecija.

The young bride also revealed that they’d been a couple in high school, but they had not expected that their fake marriage would turn into a real one just some years later. After all, they had already broken up at the time.

While they remained friends after breaking up, the two had not thought about getting back together even during their fake ‘marriage’ at the high school booth.

So, it came as a surprise that they eventually got back together. The bride described the feeling as “surreal” - and looking at their photos, it really seems amazing that they turned that ‘tuksuhan’ wedding into a real-life one.

She added that she misses her high school life, especially because she didn’t have any idea back then that this would happen in the future.

It’s also surprising to learn that the newlyweds have been each other’s first loves - and they’re now each other’s last loves. She mused that they’re still the same as when they’ve been together back in high school; though they’re, of course, more mature these days.

Congratulations to the Pamintuan couple!
