MANILA, Philippines – Social media personality, entrepreneur, and Manila councilor candidate Rosemarie Tan-Pamulaklakin, more popularly known as "Rosmar Tan," shared that she has spoken via video call with the viral "sampaguita girl" who was confronted by a security guard at a well-known mall. The incident led to the security guard's dismissal due to the alleged harsh manner in which the child was shooed away.
In her Facebook post on Thursday, January 16, Rosmar shared that she was able to reach out to the child's family and spoke to her via video call on Messenger. She gave the child 10,000 pesos and encouraged her to start a business, such as selling “ihaw-ihaw” (grilled street food) in front of their house, instead of selling sampaguita in malls.

“Para sa Sampaguita girl mag aral ka mabuti at tapusin ang pag aaral. Wag ka na magtinda ng sampaguita sa mga bawal na lugar para walang problema,” Rosmar said.
“Mag simula ka nalang mag business sa Labas ng bahay nyo tulad ng ihaw ihaw... 😩🤤😍”

In another Facebook post, Rosmar claimed and shared "resibo" as proof that she had spoken with the sampaguita girl, whom she identified as "Jenny." According to Rosmar, she discovered that Jenny is a first-year Medical Technology student. She clarified that Jenny is indeed a student and is not the same person in the viral video of a woman pretending to be a student while selling sampaguita in malls and on the streets to beg for money.
“Sa mga nagcocomment at one sided meet Jenny ang trending na SAMPAGUITA GIRL ngayon.😩💖,” Rosmar said.
“Hindi po sya ung vics girl or what so ever na tinutukoy nyo sobrang layo ng mukha nila. Pinahanap ko sya at para mapadalhan ko ng tulong kasi naaawa ako sakanya nung napanuod ko ang video.”
“Parehas silang may mali knowing na bawal mag tinda dun pero nagtitinda pa rin sya, ginagawa lang ng guard ang trabaho nya. Un nga lang mali na sinipa at sinira ang paninda. Na para maipag patuloy ni Jenny ang pag aaral nya bilang 1st year Medtech.”
