Is it possible for someone who has been declared dead to rise again?
Resurrection refers to the act of coming back to life after death. The concept appears across various religious, philosophical, and cultural contexts, each with unique interpretations.

In religious contexts, it is most prominently associated with Christianity, where Jesus Christ's resurrection is a central tenet of faith. It represents the promise of eternal life and the triumph of divine power over mortality.
Beyond theology, resurrection can also symbolize personal or collective rebirth, such as overcoming a significant failure or hardship to start anew. It serves as a powerful metaphor for hope, renewal, and the possibility of redemption, emphasizing the idea that endings can lead to new beginnings.
But this 25-year-old Indian national with speech and hearing difficulties is not a zombie, narrowly escaped being cremated after being mistakenly declared dead and sent directly to a cremation facility.
However, before the cremation process could begin, the man, identified as Rohitash Kumar, who had been presumed dead, suddenly regained consciousness. Kumar had been rushed to a hospital in Rajasthan, located in northwestern India, due to an illness.
On November 21, 2024, Kumar experienced an epileptic seizure and was revived through CPR, but he reportedly flatlined and was declared dead. However, no post-mortem examination was conducted to determine the actual cause of death, according to The Times of India.
Upon discovering that Kumar was still alive, he was immediately returned to the hospital. The report also stated that three doctors who examined and declared him dead were suspended after he was prematurely sent to the mortuary for cremation in accordance with Hindu rites.
An interview with the hospital's chief medical officer revealed that a post-mortem report for Kumar had been prepared, although the procedure had not actually been performed.
Apart from the suspension, it remains unclear what other charges the doctors or the hospital may face in connection with the incident.
