MANILA, Philippines – The November 2024 National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) exam results, which include the complete list of passers and top 20, for promotional examination (Police Officer 2nd Class Examination for Police Lieutenant and Police Captain) will be released online in January-February 2025, 2-3 months after the exams.
NAPOLCOM administered the promotional exams to 8,538 police personnel on November 24, 2024 (Sunday) in designated testing centers nationwide.

COVERAGE OF EXAMS
The multiple-choice promotional examinations include general information, police administration and operations, and police customs and tradition/values and ethical standards.
It is open exclusively to all qualified uniformed members of the PNP who meet the minimum qualification standards for examination in terms of rank and eligibility.
Those who passed the promotional exam shall be conferred eligibilities appropriate for promotion to the ranks corresponding to the examination's Eligibility Rank Coverage (ERC).
RENAMING OF PNP PROMOTIONAL EXAM TITLES
Due to the modification of the PNP rank classification under Republic Act No. 11200, the current promotional examination titles are no longer appropriate with the present rank classification, hence, it has to be renamed.
RA 11200 entitled “An Act Providing for the Rank Classification in the Philippine National Police, amending for the purpose Section 28 of Republic Act No. 6975, as amended, otherwise known as the "Department of the Interior and Local Government Act of 1990" was signed into law by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte on February 8, 2019 and implemented by the PNP on March 25, 2019.
Said law modifies the rank classification in the PNP and standardizes how police officers are addressed.
NOTE: Police Officer 2nd Class examination for Police Lieutenant and Police Captain is previously called "Police Inspector Examination for Inspector and Senior Inspector".
PREVIOUS EXAMINATIONS
In the June 2024 NAPOLCOM exams, results were released in two (2) months after the tests. A total of 4,788 out of 11,828 or 40.48%) passed the Promotional Exams.
In the December 2023 NAPOLCOM exams, results were announced online in almost three (3) months after the exams. A total of 5,021 passed constituting 57.50% of the 8,732 in-service police officers who took the PNP Promotional Exams.
In the June 2023 NAPOLCOM exams, results were released online after three (3) months. A total of 5,722 out of 9,951 (57.50%) passed the promotional examinations.
In the December 2022 NAPOLCOM exams, results were announced after four (4) months. A total of 4,278 hurdled the promotional exams.
AVAILABILITY OF RESULTS
The Nationwide list of PNPE and PromEx passers will be posted at the One-Stop-Shop (NOSS), 7th floor, DILG-NAPOLCOM Center, NAPOLCOM Building, Quezon City. A regional list will also be posted in all NAPOLCOM regional offices.
To facilitate and ensure efficient distribution and timely receipt of the examination results by the PNPE and PromEx examinees, the Certificates of Eligibility (CoE) for successful examinees or the Reports of Rating for failed examinees shall be issued by the Centra Office for mailing to the examinees using legal-size envelope.
