Barbie's announcement about the end of her seven-year relationship with Jak seemed as explosive as New Year firecrackers.
"'Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because it happened' - Dr. Seuss," it can be read on Barbie’s Instagram post.
"Having you in my life was the happiest I had ever been. Seven wonderful years. A lot of laughs, a lot of ramen and so much love."
"Your love was exceptional."
"But sometimes, good things fall apart so better things can come together."
"Beautiful goodbye, @jakroberto," she reiterates.
"Thank you for loving me the way you did. I am excited for what’s to come for the both of us. You take care of yourself. May you find the love you deserve."
"I hope for everyone’s understanding and I wish you can help us put this matter to rest," she ended.
She did not mention the reason for the break-up.
Because of this, "BarDa," the love team formed between her and the so-called "National Gentleman" David Licauco, trended. The pairing gained popularity due to the hit teleserye Maria Clara at Ibarra.
Here are some of the netizens' reactions and comments.
"More to come for #BarDa hahaha 🤦"
"Sorry bie but i am happy i look forward s success mo as an actress at as barda love team wl ng pdeng mkpigil kse doon k nsisira sa mga limitation mo hoping n ang barda more project without hesitations na."

"Nasa-sad ako para sa JakBie pero happy naman ako para sa BarDa OMG."
"Well, hindi na ako nagulat na mangyayari ito, medyo na-delay nga lang at umabot pa sa 7 taon."
"May kinalaman kaya ang love team? May third party kaya?"
Meanwhile, Jak has yet to confirm Barbie's statement about their breakup. His latest Instagram post was a New Year's greeting as he watched the countdown to 2025.
