MANILA, Philippines – A city in Pampanga was included in the list of best destinations to visit this Christmas.
In the list released by CNN titled '15 of the best places to go for Christmas', the City of San Fernando in Pampanga was included.

CNN described San Fernando, Pampanga as a "top nomination."
CNN highlights San Fernando's colorful and fun Giant Lantern Festival, which is sure to add excitement as the holiday season approaches. The festival starts on December 14 and ends on January 1.

"The highlight of a visit here is the parol, a colorful, electric Christmas lantern that symbolizes the Star of Bethlehem," according to CNN.
Tourists flock to the Giant Lantern Festival in Pampanga because of the giant and flickering lanterns, which are truly world-class in beauty.
"The parols recall psychedelic kaleidoscopes, brilliant stained glass windows, prismatic pinwheels or oversized snowflakes," the list added.
San Fernando’s lantern-making tradition dates back to the late 18th century.
Aside from San Fernando, Pampanga, the list also includes the places of Rovaniemi, Lapland, Finland; Bogotá, Colombia; Bethlehem, Pennsylvania; Bath, England; Barcelona, Spain; Nairobi, Kenya; Nuremberg, Germany; Malta; Quebec City, Canada; San Miguel de Allende, Mexico; Salzburg and Oberndorf, Austria; Strasbourg, France; Queenstown, New Zealand and New York City.
