MANILA, Philippines – The National University (NU) Pep Squad is back on top of the UAAP Cheerdance Competition (CDC) clinching its eighth gold medal for Season 87 on Sunday, December 1, 2024 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

In front of the jam-packed Mall of Asia Arena, NU once again employed its high-risk, high-reward stunt work to a huge payoff for its eighth title in the last eleven seasons.
The Jhocson-based champion squad went extra-terrestrial with an Outer Space-themed routine.
Running behind at first runner-up is the Adamson Pep Squad with their karaoke medley and local pop culture routine.
The Far Eastern University (FEU) Cheering Squad placed third in the annual cheerdance event with their Frozen-theme routine.
NU received Php 50,000 cash prize while Adamson and FEU took home Php 30,000 and Php 20,000 cash prize, respectively.
The National University tallied 713 points, while Adamson had 679.5 points. FEU had 650 points to finish third.

NU also swept the special awards, including MWell Power Performance, Juicy Cologne Juicyfied Pyramid, AIA Ascend Best Aerial Performance, Jollibee Best Toss, Silka Stay Lit Dance Move, Skechers Stylish Performance Award, Yamaha Most Unique Dance Moves and Yamaha Most Unique Dance Moves.
The last time NU won the cheerdance title was in Season 85.
With the latest victory, NU is now tied with University of Santo Tomas (UST) and University of the Philippines (UP) for the most CDC titles at eight.
