GUIDE: 2024 bar exam passers oathtaking, roll-signing, clearance procedure

MANILA, Philippines – The Supreme Court released results of 2024 bar exam on Friday, December 13, 202.

As announced, 3,962 (37.84%) passed the 122nd Philippine Bar exams.

Passing grade for 2024 Bar was adjusted to 74% instead of the traditional 75% passing grade.

Previously, the high court said that 10,490 law graduates completed the fourth digitalized and regionalized bar exams on September 8, 11, and 15, 2024.

Ahead of the release of bar results, SC Office of the Bar Confidant (OBC) announced details of the oathtaking and signing of the Roll of Attorneys to give the prospective successful examinees ample time to undertake the necessary preparations.

DATE AND VENUE

Both the oathtaking and the roll-signing of the 2024 bar passers will be on January 24, 2025, Friday at the SMX Convention Center Manila, Seashell Lane, Pasay City.

Gates will open at 6:00 a.m. and close at 9:00 a.m. Latecomers will be denied entry.

SC further informed that Integrated Bar of the Philippines will open their office on January 25, 2025 (Saturday), from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to accommodate the new lawyers who will pay their membership dues, especially those outside the National Capital Region.

CLEARANCE PROCEDURE

The successful bar examinees (SBEs) must complete the clearance procedure via the BARISTA from January 6, 2025, until January 17, 2025.

SBEs are strongly advised to complete their clearances as soon as possible. Requests for extensions will not be accommodated, and failure to complete the procedure within the designated timeline shall render an SBE ineligible to participate in the Ceremonies on January 24, 2025.

Successful 2024 Bar Examinees (SBEs) may proceed with the clearance if they complied with requirements in Bar Bulletin No. 2, series of 2024.

The SBEs should confirm if their BARISTA application is updated and tagged as 'COMPLIED'.
