MANILA, Philippines – Supreme Court Associate Justice Mario V. Lopez, Chairperson of the 2024 Supreme Court Committee on Bar Examinations, announced on Friday, December 13, 2024 the results, including full list of passers of the 2024 Bar Exams.
As announced, 3,962 (37.84%) passed the 2024 Bar Exams.
Passing grade for 2024 Bar was adjusted to 74% instead of the traditional 75% passing grade.
The new lawyers out of the 10,490 law graduates who completed all the tests during the three days of the exams will be named at the end of the special en banc session of the Supreme Court.
Justice Lopez in an interview disclosed that en banc deliberations would commence at 10 a.m. He is planning to maintain the traditional 75 percent passing percentage, though the final decision depends with the en banc.
“I’ve been telling the examinees even before the Bar exams, I told them that I will be very reasonable even in the corrections. I have also instructed the examiners to be reasonable with their corrections. And I can assure the examinees just like what I did with the examination questions, ang sabi ko sa kanila it is neither difficult or easy..”eksakto” lang ang questions that will test them,” Justice Lopez added.
The announcement also includes the over-all passing rate. Note that the expected bar exam passing rate is between 20% to 40% (based on previous data).
The Office of the 2024 Bar Chair had earlier announced that both the Oath Taking and the Roll Signing Ceremonies for the successful Bar examinees will take place on January 24, 2025.
The 2024 Bar Examinations were held on September 8, 11, and 15, 2024 in 13 local testing centers spread out across the National Capital Region, Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. The said Examinations were the 122nd professional licensure tests conducted for Philippine lawyers.
