MANILA, Philippines – Chelsea Manalo, the Philippines' Miss Universe 2024 candidate, bowed out of the competition after she failed to enter the Top 12 of the competition on Sunday, November 17, 2024 (Philippine time).
Chelsea made it to the Top 30, where semifinalists strutted in their swimsuit.

Chelsea, the first Pinay of Afro-American descent to represent the country, was among 125 candidates who competed for 73rd Miss Universe crown. She was gunning for the Philippines' fifth Miss Universe title.

The Top 12 will compete in the evening gown competition in which 5 delegates will be chosen to advance as finalists.
The Philippines so far has 4 Miss Universe titlists: Catriona Gray in 2018, Pia Wurtzbach in 2015, Margie Moran in 1973, and Gloria Diaz in 1969.
