MANILA, Philippines – Chelsea Manalo moves closer to the much-awaited fifth crown for the Philippines as the country's bet was chosen to advance to the Top 30 of Miss Universe 2024 with the grand coronation night happening on Sunday, November 17, 2024 (Philippine time) at the Arena CDMX in Mexico City, Mexico.

Manalo was chosen to advance in the competition based on the preliminary round, which featured contestants competing in swimsuit and evening gown, and closed-door interviews.
The Top 30 will do a small interview with hosts American television host and actor Mario Lopez and Miss Universe 2012 Olivia Culpo and will compete in swimsuit round. Only twelve of them will advance to the evening gown competition.

During the preliminary competition, Manalo strutted down the Miss U stage with confidence with her ocean-inspired look in the evening gown and swimsuit rounds, earning the praise from many of her fans.
The Philippines so far has 4 Miss Universe titlists: Catriona Gray in 2018, Pia Wurtzbach in 2015, Margie Moran in 1973, and Gloria Diaz in 1969.
