MANILA, Philippines – A minor was injured after he rescued his siblings in a fire that occurred in a residential area in Barangay Batasan Hills, Quezon City on Sunday, November 3.

In a report by ABS-CBN News, the 14-year-old boy suffered severe burns on his body after rescuing his two younger brothers.
"Yung pinakakuya po nila kaya siya nagkaroon ng malubhang sunog sa balat is sinagip niya yung dalawa niyang kapatid," according to John Havinez, the barangay's Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer (DRRMO).
His aunt, Rizalyn Talamisan-Remot, said that the children's parents were not there when the fire happened. She also sustained minor injuries.
"Natataranta yung mga bata sa taas kasi yung tatay wala nagsamba yung nanay nasa trabaho," she said.

According to Rizalyn, the eldest sibling suffered third-degree burns.
Currently, he and his siblings are in the hospital for treatment and recovery.
Meanwhile, the fire was brought under control after reaching the first alarm. The cause of the fire for now is not yet clear.
