MANILA, Philippines – It's the time of the year again for the much-awaited Miss Universe pageant!

Prior to the grand coronation night on November 16 (November 17 Philippine time), contestants of Miss Universe 2024 will face in the Preliminary Competition, which includes evening gown runway show and a swimsuit competition.
130 women from around the globe will compete in the preliminaries and National Costume (NatCos) show on November 14 (November 15 at 10am, Philippine time) in Mexico City.
The preliminary competition, which also includes closed-door interviews, will determine the semifinalists for the pageant.
Four continental queens and one fan-vote winner will be announced at the end of the preliminary competition, which will automatically advance to the semifinals.
Note that the number of semifinalists in this edition will increase from twenty to thirty, marking the highest number of semifinalists in the history of the pageant.
Miss Universe Philippines 2024 Chelsea Manalo from Bulacan province will represent the country. She won the Philippine crown on May 22, when she bested 52 other candidates to succeed Miss Universe Philippines 2023 Michelle Dee.
Chelsea is hoping to become the fifth Filipina to win the Miss Universe title, following Gloria Diaz (1969), Margie Moran (1973), Pia Wurtzbach (2015), and Catriona Gray (2018).
On Sunday, Sheynnis Palacios of Nicaragua will crown her successor at the end of the event with a Jewelmer-crafted new crown, "The Light of Infinity," adorned by Philippine pearl and diamonds with a sole golden pearl at the piece de resistance.
How to watch Miss Universe 2024 Preliminary Competition?
The official Miss Universe website said that the Preliminary Competition will be livestreamed via Bingo Plus app and website in the Philippines from 10 am to 1pm.
Meanwhile, A2Z, TV5, Kapamilya Channel and Metro Channel will only broadcast the Finale competition.
Similar to previous years, pageant fans may also expect of a livestream of preliminaries via the official Miss Universe YouTube channel. The Summit Express will update this page for the vide once available.
