Is ‘It’s Showtime’ until December 2024 on GMA, to be replaced by TikToClock?

MANILA, Philippines – Netizens are abuzz amid speculations that GMA will soon end the airing of the noontime show “It’s Showtime” on its channels by December 2024.

‘It’s Showtime’ until December 2024 on GMA, to be replaced by TikToClock?

These past few months, many TV viewers and avid fans of ‘It’s Showtime’ have been wondering what the future holds for the noontime show. ABS-CBN's well-loved variety show began airing on GMA’s GTV in April 2024, following a partnership between the two TV stations in June 2023. Soon, it expanded its airing to include the GMA main channel from Monday to Saturday from nontime until 2 pm. Now, It’s Showtime can also be seen on GMA Pinoy TV and Kapuso Stream, along with the other free channels under ABS-CBN.

However, alleged reports online have circulated that GMA will allegedly discontinue the airing of It’s Showtime by the end of December 2024. It has also been alleged that the GMA show "TikToClock" will replace It’s Showtime and rival TV5’s Eat Bulaga starting January 2025. According to rumors, the Kapuso program is now preparing for its re-launch and will bring in new segments and gimmicks.

TikToClock is a contest-variety show that airs on GMA from Monday to Friday at 11:00 AM. Launched in 2022, its hosts are Kim Atienza, Pokwang, Rabiya Mateo, and more.

If TikToClock pushes through with the new timeslot, the rumors about a different show produced by TAPE Inc. replacing ‘It’s Showtime’ might not be true. TAPE Inc. was the television production company behind the iconic noontime show, Eat Bulaga!. After Eat Bulaga’s hosts Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon’s rift with TAPE, the show moved to TV5. Meanwhile, TAPE produced “Tahanang Pinakamasaya” on Eat Bulaga’s GMA timeslot with hosts Paolo Contis and others. The show didn’t last and was soon replaced with It’s Showtime on GMA.

Meanwhile, GMA Network Senior Vice President, Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes issued a statement addressing the speculations. While she didn’t deny nor confirm the “TikToClock,” she clarified that negotiations for It's Showtime’s renewal of contract are still ongoing.

She said, “We are in the process of negotiations now for the renewal of Showtime. I do not know who released this info since we are still currently negotiating nga for Showtime’s renewal.”

If GMA doesn’t push through with the noontime show’s renewal, viewers can still get to enjoy the show by watching it on Kapamilya Channel, A2Z, Kapamilya Online Live, and ALLTV.
