MANILA, Philippines – Television host Ion Perez has withdrawn his candidacy for councilor in Concepcion, Tarlac.
Perez made the announcement on his social media account on Monday, November 4, just a few weeks after the certificate of candidacy (COC) filing for the 2025 midterm elections.

Paumanhin po," he added.

Ion was among the list of celebrities who filed COC in October.
Ion was supposed to run under Team Luv Ko To (TLKT) led by Mayor Noel Villanueva.
Meanwhile, Vice Ganda clarified during an exclusive interview with showbiz vlogger Ogie Diaz that she did not control Ion in his political decision.
"Kaming dalawa, we don't decide for each other hindi ako sasabihan ni Ion na dapat ganito yung gawin ko.
Currently, Perez is one of the hosts of the Kapamilya noontime show 'It's Showtime' where he is also with his partner Vice Ganda.
