MANILA, Philippines – Malacañang Palace announced suspension of work in government offices and classes at all levels in the cities of Pasay and Manila on October 14 and 15, 2024 (Monday and Tuesday) due to the opening of Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction.
Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin issued Memorandum Circular No. 66 for the cancellation of government work and classes in certain areas to allow organized conduct of the APMCDRR.
The Philippines, in partnership with the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction will host the 10th Session of the APMCDRR on October 14 to 18 at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Manila.
In addition, the government said numerous participants are expected to travel to and within the cities of Manila and Pasay early next week.
However, those agencies whose functions involve in the delivery of basic and health services, preparedness/response to disasters and calamities, and/or the performance of vital services shall continue their operations and render the necessary services.

Meanwhile, the suspension of work for private companies and offices is left to the discretion of their respective heads.
