MANILA, Philippines – The Taal Volcano in Batangas has erupted on Wednesday afternoon, October 2, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.

In an advisory shared on Facebook at 4:30 p.m today, Phivolcs said there's an "ongoing eruption at Taal Volcano."
The phreatomagmatic eruption occurred at the Taal Volcano at 4:21 p.m.
Phivolcs said to provide more details about the eruption.
The volcano has been under Alert Level 1 or 'in abnormal condition' since July 11, 2022.
On Tuesday, there were five phreatic eruptions and six volcanic tremors that lasted up to 10 minutes recorded over the volcano.
