On the last day of certificate of candidacy (COC) filing on Tuesday, October 8, Quiboloy once again made noise after filing the COC for senator in the 2025 midterm elections.

Through his authorized representative, the leader of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) filed the candidacy at the Manila Hotel Tent City.

His legal counsel, Mark Tolentino, explained Quiboloy's plans to run for senator.

Aside from focusing on religion and health, Tolentino also said that Quiboloy wants to focus on education in the Philippines.

"He will focus on education. He wants a massive quality education and zero corruption."

Aside from being KOJC leader, Quiboloy is known as a close friend and spiritual adviser of former president Rodrigo Duterte.

Currently, Quiboloy is facing qualified human trafficking and sexual abuse charges and is currently detained at the Philippine National Police Custodial Center at Camp Crame in Quezon City.
