MANILA, Philippines – The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) will announce soon the top performing schools in the October 2024 Mining Engineer board exam.
PRC and the Board of Mining Engineering administered the licensure exam (MELE) on October 22, 23 and 24, 2024 in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Butuan, Cebu, Cagayan de Oro and Davao.
The second and third day of exams in Legazpi was cancelled due to severe flooding brought about by Severe Tropical Storm Kristine (Trami).

PREVIOUS EXAMINATIONS
In the August 2023 Mining Engineer board exams, University of the Philippines (UP) - Diliman topped the schools with 100% passing rate or all 7 of its takers passed. University of Southeastern Philippines - Davao City ranked second with 87.80% or 36 out of 41 passed.
In the August-September 2022 Mining Engineer board exam, UP-Diliman also garnered 100% passing rate or all 34 takers passed. Mindanao State University - Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT) came in second place with 90.00% or 18 out of 20 passed.
In the August 2021 Mining Engineer board exam, Bicol University - Legazpi was the lone top performing school with 85.29% passing rate or 29 out of 34 passed.
In the pre-pandemic era (August 2019), UP - Diliman topped the schools with 100% passing rate or all 35 takers passed. MSU-IIT ranked second with 97.44%.
