Schools celebrated "National and World Teacher's Day" on October 5 as a tribute to beloved teachers who serve as second parents to students.
Students offered various surprises for their teachers: some prepared presentations, performances, surprises, and of course, the most common gesture was giving gifts such as chocolates, food, cake, or flowers. Others expressed their gratitude through letters or simple greetings.

A teacher’s post brought good vibes after she proudly showcased the gifts she received from her students. It turns out that Teacher Christian Leslie Undang didn’t receive typical presents—along with flowers, she took home a live rooster!
According to the teacher’s Facebook post, the rooster is a "Bisayang Manok." Though she didn’t receive any chocolates, what mattered to her was that she now has a pet chicken.
"Bahalag wai tsokolet, naa man pud bisayang manok. 🤤🩵 Thankyouuuuu mga nakiiesss #PerksOfBeingAHinterlandTeacher”
“Happy World Teachers' day mga magtutudlo," she said.
This garnered amusing reactions and comments from netizens.
"Sa province talaga, masaya mag celebrate. Nag-enjoy ka na, may pang-ulam pa. Manok ang palaging nireregalo din sa amin. Pato rin. Minsan mga gulay din. Happy to all of us, teachers."
"Happy Teacher's Day!"
"Sabungera si Ma'am haha joke, HTD po."
"Pantalpak ni Ma'am hahaha."
In his other posts, the teacher thanked his Grade 2 students and assured them that he wouldn’t slaughter or eat the rooster.
