According to reports and CCTV footage, Eugenio had just arrived home from working as a rider when the 3 suspects followed him. He had just parked his motorcycle in front of his house when he was shot in the back by one of the suspects. Eugenio tried to escape and ran, but the suspect followed and shot him more than 10 times, until the victim fell to the ground. Meanwhile, the 2 other suspects can be seen already riding the motorcycle, and all 3 escaped.

The victim’s mother immediately ran outside their house after hearing the gunshots and found her son lying on the pavement. Eugenio was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead.

The 3 suspects were immediately arrested by the authorities in less than 24 hours. The 2 gunmen were aged 19 and 22. The 3rd one was the lookout. They are now detained at the Pasig Police Station and were charged with murder, carnapping, and illegal possession of firearms.

Pasig City Police chief PCol. Hendrix Mangaldan confirmed that the suspects were really after the motorcycle, and it has been their modus operandi to shoot victims as they steal.

Meanwhile, Eugenio’s mother, Michelle, shares the pain their family is enduring after what happened to her son. She said, “Napakasakit. May pangarap ‘yung anak ko. Makatapos [ng pag-aaral], makatulong, tapos sa isang iglap, ikaw ang nagtanggal ng buhay ng anak ko. Diyos na po ang bahala sa kaniya.”
