State weather bureau PAGASA said 'Enteng' has intensified into a severe tropical storm.
At 4:00 pm on Tuesday, 'Bagyong Enteng' was estimated based on all available data at 165 km West Northwest of Laoag City, Ilocos Norte.
It has maximum sustained winds of 95 km/h near the center, gustiness of up to 115 km/h, and central pressure of 985 hPa.
Tropical cyclone wind signal (TCWS) No. 1 was raised over the areas of Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, the northern portion of La Union (Luna, Santol, San Juan, Bagulin, Bangar, San Gabriel, Bacnotan, Sudipen, Balaoan, City of San Fernando), and Abra.
Furthermore, the enhanced Southwest Monsoon will bring moderate to intense rainfall in other areas of Luzon (especially along the western portions) over the next three days, the weather agency said.
On the forecast track, 'Enteng' will exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Wednesday morning.
