PAGASA weather forecast

State weather bureau PAGASA announced in its 4:00 pm update on Wednesday that the trough of Typhoon Yagi (Enteng) is affecting Northern Luzon. Meanwhile, Southwest Monsoon or habagat is affecting Central and Southern Luzon.

The tropical cyclone outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) was tracked at 450km west northwest of Laoag City, Ilocos Norte. It has maximum sustained winds of 140 kph and gustiness of up to 170 kph.

Cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms is expected over the areas of Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, Ilocos Norte and Ilocos Sur. This may cause flash floods or landslides due to moderate with at times heavy rains.

Southwest Monsoon is specifically affecting these areas: Pangasinan, Zambales, Bataan, and Occidental Mindoro (monsoon rains); Metro Manila, La Union, Cavite, Batangas, Rizal, Laguna, Oriental Mindoro, Northern Palawan, and the rest of Central Luzon (occasional rains) and Quezon, Marinduque, and Romblon (scattered rains).
