PAGASA weather forecast
State weather bureau PAGASA announced in its 4:00 pm update on Thursday said that the trough of Typhoon Yagi is affecting Extreme of Northern Luzon. Meanwhile, Southwest Monsoon or habagat is affecting the rest of Luzon.
The tropical cyclone outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) was tracked at 595 km west northwest of Laoag City, Ilocos Norte. It has maximum sustained winds of 195 kph and gustiness of up to 240 kph.
Cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the trough of the typhoon is expected over the areas of Batanes and Babuyan Islands. This may cause flash floods or landslides due to moderate with at times heavy rains.
Southwest Monsoon is specifically affecting these areas: Pangasinan, Zambales, and Bataan (monsoon rains); Metro Manila, Cavite, Batangas, Rizal, Laguna, Oriental Mindoro, Occidental Mindoro, Cordillera Administrative Region, and the rest of Ilocos Region, and Central Luzon (occasional rains); Palawan, Quezon, Marinduque, Romblon, and the rest of Cagayan Valley (scattered rains and thunderstorms).
