FULL RESULTS: August 11, 2024 Civil Service Exam CSE-PPT list of passers, top 10

MANILA, Philippines – RESULTS ARE OUT! The August 2024 Civil Service Exam results or Career Service Examination-Pen and Paper Test (CSE-PPT) full list of passers and topnotchers (top 10) for professional and subprofessional level are released online on October 15, 2024 or in 65 calendar days after the exam.

The second and final CSE-PPT this year was administered in 16 regions nationwide on August 11, 2024 (Sunday).

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) said that a total of 329,465 examinees took the Career Service Examination in 95 testing centers.

CSC further reported that 42,812 examinees, constituting 14.43 percent of the 296,758 total candidates, have passed the CSE Professional Level. For the CSE Subprofessional Level, 4,637 individuals or 14.18 percent of the 32,707 examinees achieved a passing rate.

Based on the results per region, National Capital Region (NCR) achieved the highest passing rate of 18.96 percent, with 8,242 successful examinees out of 43,478 individuals who took the exam.

Region III placed second while Region IV ranked third, with 18.73 percent and 17.56 percent passing rates, respectively. This translates to 4,153 passers out of 22,178 takes for Region III and 6,846 out of 38,978 examinees for Region IV.

CSC said that passers who got at least 80 percent rating will be eligible for a position in the civil service provided the eligibles meet the qualifications and other requirements - education, experience, and training.

CIVIL SERVICE EXAM COVERAGE

The CSE-PPT is a general ability test designed to measure an individual’s preparedness to enter government service.

The CSE-PPT covered the following subjects (in English and Filipino):

Professional Level (Prof) -170 items with a time limit of 3 hours and 10 minutes

• Numerical Ability (number sequence, basic operation, and word problem)
• Analytical Ability (word analogy and logical reasoning)
• Verbal Ability (vocabulary, grammar and correct usage, and correct reasoning of thought process)

SubProfessional Level (SubProf) - 165 items; time limit is 2 hours and 40 minutes

• Numerical Ability (number sequence, basic operation, and word problem)
• Clerical Ability (filing, spelling)
• Verbal Ability (vocabulary, grammar and correct usage, and correct reasoning of thought process)

General information items on the following for both levels:

• Philippine Constitution;
• Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees (R.A. 6713);
• Peace and Human Rights Issues and Concepts; and
• Environment Management and Protection

RELEASE OF RESULTS

On October 15, CSC finally confirmed that CSE-PPT results will be released today at 12:00 noon.

To quote, "The results from the CSE-PPT 11 August 2024 will be accessible online starting on October 15, 2024, at 12:00 PM. On this date and time, individuals can directly visit this website to view their results."

The agency further said, "considering the release of the August 11 2024 CSC Pen and Paper Test (PPT) result, access to other examination results has been temporarily disabled from October 15 to 25, 2024 to accommodate the high volume of requests."

In the initial announcement on the target release of August 2024 CSE-PPT results, CSC plotted October 20, 2024 (Sunday) release of results. However, the agency made an update on August 15 setting the target date to October 16.

"The test results are set to be released through posting of the lists of passers on the CSC website by 16 October," CSC advised in an article about the successful conduct of CSE-PPT.

CSC posted another update on October 9 confirming release of results on or before October 16, 2024.

To quote, "The List of Passers of the 11 August 2024 CSE-PPT for Professional and SubProfessional levels shall be posted on the CSC Website www.csc.gov.ph | Examination Results on or before 16 October 2024."

OCSERGS/VERIFICATION OF RATING

Examinees, both passed and failed, may get their individual test results using the Online Civil Service Examination Result Generation System (OCSERGS), which can also be accessed through the CSC website not later than October 27 2024.

Please note that no report of rating shall be mailed to individual examinees.

PREVIOUS EXAM

In the March 2024 civil service exam, a total of 57,683 individuals out of 335,385 or 17.20 percent passed the exam. Of the 297,952 candidates who took the CSE Professional level, 51,311 passed, resulting in a pass rate of 17.22 percent. Additionally, 6,372 out of 37,433 individuals passed the Subprofessional level, achieving a pass rate of 17.02 percent. Viron Gil A. Estrada from the National Capital Region (NCR) achieved the highest score in the CSE-PPT Professional level, earning a rating of 97.30 and surpassing 297,951 other candidates. Meanwhile, Mia Kimberly F. Noche from Region IV led the Subprofessional level with a top rating of 97.24.

In the August 2023 civil service exam, 64,635 examinees out of 345,194 (18.72%) successfully hurdled the tests. Of the total passers, 56,942 examinees hurdled the Professional Level while 7,693 passed the Subprofessional Level. Patricia D. Victa from the National Capital Region (NCR) topped the Professional level with a rating of 93.60%. Leonard Brian E. Nicolas, also from NCR led the Sub-Professional level with a rating of 90.83.

In the March 2023 civil service exam, 64,420 examinees out of 381,607 (16.88%) passed the exams. A total of 54,478 or 16.42 percent out of 331,816 examinees passed the Professional Level Examination, while 9,942, representing 19.97 percent of the 49,791 examinees, passed the Subprofessional Level exam. With a rating of 92.63, Glenn C. Gonzales from the National Capital Region (NCR) topped the Professional level, while LM Tricia T. De La Cruz from Western Visayas topped the Subprofessional level with a 90.24 rating.

In the August 2022 civil service exam, a total of 26,307 out of 138,703 (18.97%) examinees passed the test. The Professional Level logged 22,241 passers out of 117,938 examinees or a passing rate of 18.86%. Meanwhile, 4,066 out of 20,765 examinees or 19.58% passed the Subprofessional Level. Leading the passers for professional level is Kate Angelica P. Pasobillo from Bicol Region, who garnered a rating of 90.08%. Rey Timothy H. Nalica from Southern Tagalog bested the subprofessional exam with 94.77% rating.

For the August 2024 CS exam results, takers may expect of passing rate around 10-20%.

CERTIFICATE OF ELIGIBILITY TO PASSERS

Passers may request for a CoE printed on CSC official letterhead by November 20, 2024.

Those who will pass should coordinate and verify first through CSC announcement if their Certification is already available before going to the CSC Regional/Field Office. Contact numbers of the CSC office may be accessed at the CSC website.

The security paper CoE and its authenticated copy/ies may be applied for and obtained from any of the 16 CSC ROs nationwide, regardless of the place of examination, also by November 20, 2024.

NEXT CIVIL SERVICE EXAM

The next Civil Service Exam for Professional and Sub-Professional Levels is on March 2, 2025. Application runs from November 19, 2024 until January 3, 2025.
