A Pinoy restaurant owner in Dubai came from a simple and difficult life in the Philippines.

Meet Jenifer Segalowitz from Las Piñas City, a Pinoy restaurant owner in Dubai now earning approximately Php 16 million per month.

But before reaching a comfortable life, Jenifer's life in the Philippines was not easy. As a child, she was picking up trash to earn money.

"At the age of five years old, nagbabasura kami bago pumasok sa school ‘yun yung aming kinabubuhay," she said in GMA’s program 'Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho'.

"Bahay namin tagpi-tagpi, banig ang aming higaan wala kaming kuryente," Jenifer added.

Jenifer's father was a carpenter but he got sick so her mother, a seamstress, took care of their siblings.

"Naranasan ko na piso ang baon sa school. Nakikita ko yung ibang estudyante puting-puti yung medyas nila, samantalang ako kupas na," she said.

When her father died, this is when Jenifer tried her luck and went to Dubai.

After arriving in Dubai, she became a waitress and sold various foods and Filipinos also became her clients.

After struggling at work and separating from her first husband, Jenifer's life changed when she met Doug.

"Parang love at first sight," Jenifer said.
