MANILA, Philippines – Some local government units suspended classes for Thursday, August 29, 2024, due to inclement weather brought by the southwest monsoon or habagat.
This list will be updated as soon as local or national authorities make their advisories.

Cavite province
- Bacoor City – all levels (public and private)
- Cavite City – all levels (public and private)
- Dasmarinas City – all levels (public and private); private schools has the autonomy to conduct modular distance learning
- General Trias City – all levels (public and private)
- Imus City – all levels (public and private)
- Kawit – all levels (public and private)
- Noveleta – all levels (public and private)
- Tanza – all levels (public and private)
- Trece Martires City – all levels (public and private)
On Wednesday, several areas in Calabarzon, MIMAROPA and Metro Manila declared suspension of classes for August 28. The Malacañang Palace also announced suspension of classes in public schools and work in government agencies within the National Capital Region.
PAGASA weather forecast
In a weather advisory released at 4:00 pm today, PAGASA said Southwest Monsoon is affecting Central Luzon, Southern Luzon, and Visayas.
Specifically, affected areas of the monsoon rains include Metro Manila, MIMAROPA, Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, Laguna and Batangas.
The Southwest Monsoon may cause flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains.
