Do you believe that any rejection, failure, or departure from a comfort zone is a form of 'God's redirection'?
That's what happened to Christine Seraspe Chicano, who ranked 7th in the July 2022 Environmental Planner Licensure Examination. She graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of the Philippines Diliman in 2015 and also holds a Master of Arts in Urban and Regional Planning from UP.

After graduating from high school, she wanted to study at Ateneo de Manila University, but her father fell ill. Fortunately, she was able to pass the entrance exam for UP.
At that time, she didn't know what degree program she wanted to pursue. She just followed her parents' wishes for her to become a CPA lawyer or an actuary. So, she initially took up BS Mathematics. However, it seemed that this degree wasn't for her as she failed a major subject. As a result, she shifted to and pursued BS Business Administration and Accountancy.
She admitted that she struggled, and the second degree program wasn't easy either. It was during this time that she realized Accountancy wasn't for her. So, for the third time, she changed her degree program, and that was when she settled on BS Business Administration.
After graduating, she pursued a degree in Environmental Planning, which was not yet well-known in the Philippines at the time. She couldn't believe that she passed, and she even ranked 7th overall.
“Napakahalaga ng papel ng mga Environmental Planner sa pagpapalago ng pang araw-araw na pamumuhay kaya balang araw, sana makatulong ako sa pagpaplano ng mga komunidad,” she said.
The latest update about her is that she enrolled in a Law degree program at UP.
