MANILA, Philippines – A content creator has earned the ire of teachers after he commented about a news clip about the 6-hour work of teachers.
Tito Mars created a reaction video on Facebook in response to news reports stating that some teachers are claiming their health has been negatively impacted by working six or more hours a day. This news didn’t sit well with him, and he said that it seems that teachers only want to work half the day. He continued by saying that teachers should feel embarrassed about their complaints, especially if compared with healthcare workers who work longer hours.

He added that the teachers only seem to want to work 4 hours a day, including the time spent taking videos of their students to be posted as social media content.
” he continued.
Tito Mars said that while teachers might defend themselves by saying that their jobs are difficult, but “bakit may madali bang trabaho?”
He also quoted some comments about how some teachers only spend 2 hours for teaching and the rest are spent on “chikahan na.”
Teachers, who are supposed to be the role models of society, especially the youth, are becoming lazy and only want to receive salaries and benefits while working less.
Tito Mars’ content has earned a barrage of comments from teachers. They defended themselves by saying that teachers are also entitled to have a personal life and that their job is difficult and stressful. They also argued that teachers should be given more support and resources to help them do their job more effectively.
Earlier, the Department of Education issued an order that public school teachers must work 8 hours a day with 6 hours devoted to actual teaching. For the remaining two hours, they can spend inside or outside of school taking care of their other duties or responsibilities.
