Sometimes, there comes a point in a person's life when what you thought you wanted and what you believed was destined for you doesn't happen because God has a different plan for you.
Just like what happened to Engr. Jacob Delgado Mojares, who ranked No. 6 in the October 2023 ECE Board Exam. He never thought that he would pursue Electronics Communication Engineering and end up at Cavite State University, where he graduated as Magna Cum Laude. His story was published on “Outsmart the Board Exam” Facebook page.

Being one of the students of the pioneer batch of the K-12 program was predominantly tough in a sense that the idea was new to them and they weren't sure about the fate of the strand that they had chosen. Unsure and undecided, he took up Accountancy, Business, and Management (ABM).
“Never have I ever thought of being an engineer before I entered ABM, I just wanted to fulfill my parents' dream for me to finish my studies and have a decent job,” he said.
But as time went by, he realized that his true passion and interest were really in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) strand. Despite this, he still worked hard in his ABM subjects and even earned a scholarship from the Department of Science and Technology (DOST). He was determined to pursue a degree in Chemical Engineering in college.
However, his dream of becoming a chemical engineer did not materialize because the university he planned to apply to did not accept him due to his ABM background. With no other choice, he ended up taking Electronics Communication Engineering instead.
"Malay mo dito ka talaga dinala ng Diyos para maging magaling", sabi ng buong family ko a few years ago, and it came true. I won in various competitions, I aced all subjects whether minor or major man. I loved every sides and corners, the positives and negatives, to the point na I told myself na ‘Ah! Ito pala ang rason kung bakit hindi ako dinala ni Lord sa chemical engineering.’”
And he wasn't wrong in his decision because not only did he graduate with flying colors, but he also ranked Top 6 in the board exam. And this is so called “God’s redirection.”
