Because of Petecio's unanimous decision win, the 2020 Tokyo Olympics silver medalist secured her ticket in the semifinals of the said division.
Petecio also secured at least a bronze medal after going to the semifinals.
The three rounds of the said fight was too easy for Petecio as she did not give the Chinese opponent a chance and unleashed heavy blows in the face of Xu.
After another smooth performance, Petecio applauds her coaches as she gets another dominant victory.
"Hindi ko siya makukuha ng sakin lang of course si God laging nandiyan, pamilya ko but besides of that coaches ko, sila umaalalay sa amin kung wala din sila wala yung guidance nila maliban kay Lord at sa mga taong importante sa akin kung wala yung coaches hindi ko mararating kung saan ako ngayon," Petecio said in an interview with One Sports.
In preparation for the Paris Olympics, Petecio also shares that her training partners are Pinoys. She also thanked her family because of their nonstop support.
"Walang hinto hanggat walang ginto so dalawa na lang so hopefully makuha na natin this time," the 2020 Tokyo Olympics silver medalist added as she ends the interview with the famous line 'aye'.
