Megaworld president Lourdes Gutierrez-Alfonso explained that they decided to boost the reward to P35 million because Yulo’s historic win coincided with their company’s 35th anniversary.

She said, “Since this is a very significant milestone in the history of Philippine sports to have two gold Olympic medals during our 100th year participation as a country in the Olympics, which also coincides with our company’s 35th anniversary this year, we are boosting our reward for Carlos Yulo now totaling to P35 million.”

Earlier, Megaworld announced that Yulo will receive a 2-bedroom fully furnished unit that comes with 2 balconies, and a separate maid’s room worth P24 million.

At the Paris Olympics, Yulo bagged his first gold for the floor exercise with a sweeping 15.000 score, followed by a score of 15.166 points in the men’s vault finals, granting him his 2nd gold in Paris Olympics artistic gymnastics men’s category.
