SONA 2024 Livestream: President Marcos' 3rd State of the Nation Address

MANILA, Philippines – President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. delivers his third State of the Nation Address (SONA) on Monday, July 22, 2024 at the Plenary Hall of the Batasang Pambansa in Quezon City.

Under the Constitution, the Chief Executive is mandated to report the state of the country, unveil the government’s agenda for the coming year, and may also propose to Congress certain legislative measures every fourth Monday of July.

President Marcos said his SONA speech is not too long but full of accomplishments.

SONA 2024 will be available through special coverage and livestream video on state-run PTV, Presidential Communications Facebook page and Radio Television Malacañang (RTVM) Facebook page and YouTube channel.

Similar to previous year, RTVM will be directing BBM's third SONA.

Earlier, Marcos said he had a hard time squeezing in all important issues in his address. “So, the problem is I want to tackle so many issues, but it may take a longer time,” he said.

Other media outlets and top news organizations such as ABS-CBN, GMA-7 and TV5 are expected to tap to the government communications office's centralized coverage for their live streaming.

Other things to expect on Marcos' SONA 2024

Over 2,000 individuals are invited to attend Marcos’ third SONA before the joint session of the Congress.

Vocalist from Bicol, Blessie Mae Abagat, was chosen to sing the Philippine national anthem.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) said they are in full alert and will deploy around 22,000 police personnel to ensure safety coverage in Batasan complex.

MMDA Acting Chairman Atty. Don Artes said they will deploy 1,300 personnel. They will also launch a high-tech mobile command center to be used for the SONA.

The full text of President Marcos' speech called the "President's Report to the People" will be available online shortly after the Chief Executive has spoken or around 6:00 p.m.

Marcos’ first SONA was one hour and 14 minutes long. His second address lasted for one hour and 11 minutes.
