Cebu Pacific plane swerves into grassy portion of NAIA runway

MANILA, Philippines – A Cebu Pacific plane slightly swerved to the grassy area of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) this Friday morning, July 12.

According to the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA), Cebu Pacific Air A-321 slightly swerved to the grassy part of the Golf 13 taxiway at NAIA Terminal 3 while repositioning from Bay 111 to Bay 122A of NAIA Terminal 3.

It is said that no passengers or crew were injured in the said incident.

"There were no passengers or crew onboard and no injuries reported at the time of the incident," MIAA said.

Because of the said incident, some parking bays are temporarily unavailable.

"Due to the incident, Bays 110-112 are temporarily unavailable for use leaving three (3) parking bays available for wide-body aircraft," MIAA added.

For the Cebu Pacific, they apologized after the incident.

"Our team is actively working to resolve this issue promptly," Cebu Pacific said.

"We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and sincerely appreciate your understanding," the airline added.

Meanwhile, more than 10 flights in NAIA were affected by the incident.
