Are you familiar with the saying “Like mother, like daughter?”
This is what happened to the mother and daughter, Charito “Chat” Seploc and Patricia “Pat” Seploc, after they both took the Pharmacists Licensure Exam in November 2023 and both passed.

According to an interview with GMA Integrated News, both mother and daughter took up Pharmacy. Chat first completed a course in Management and started her own pharmacy business in 2012. Since her business involved medicines, Chat decided to pursue Pharmacy in 2017 to become more reliable for her customers and clients, given the nature of her industry. In 2019, her daughter Pat also chose to study Pharmacy in college.
Chat originally wanted to pursue a course in Dentistry but realized she was afraid of blood. Despite taking the same course, the mother and daughter decided to study at different schools.
After they finished their studies, they also reviewed together. During this time, Chat did not neglect Pat and continued to be a mother, especially when her daughter had difficulty with some of the information they were reviewing. Pat reportedly relied on her mother. On the day of the exam, many asked about their relationship. Chat was the oldest among all the examinees at that time. After the exam, Pat admitted that she found it difficult, while Chat found it easy.
So when the results came out and both "Seplocs" had passed, the mother and daughter became emotional, especially when they remembered the challenges they had faced. For Chat, it was not easy to juggle being a student, a business owner, a daughter to a sick mother, and a mother to her children, one of whom has autism.
The mother and daughter wish to inspire other parents and children, showing that they can rely on each other not only during times of joy but also during times of hardship and challenges.
