MANILA, Philippines – The imitation of the famous "The Last Supper" mural painting by Italian High Renaissance artist Leonardo da Vinci by some drag artists at the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics 2024 on July 26 has become a topic of conversation.

The mentioned painting depicts the "Last Supper" of Jesus Christ with his disciples before he was arrested by the authorities and subjected to a trial that led to his crucifixion on Calvary.
It was drag queens in the said country who portrayed Jesus Christ and the disciples, a portrayal that many did not appreciate.

Here are various reactions and comments on social media.
"The Paris 2024 Olympics opening ceremony features a mockery of the Christian Last Supper. DISGUSTING 🤮 Drag queens and a woman in an aureole! Not like I needed another reason not to watch! Sick."
"The Paris Olympics mocking our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with a mock Last Supper including drag queens. No other religion is mocked this way. Only Christianity. Because even demons know the Truth."
"The Olympics are supposed to be a time where countries unite under the banner of sports..."
"The recreation of the Last Supper at the #OpeningCeremony for the Paris Olympics was a disappointing display of mockery towards the Christian religion. It is entirely disrespectful to replace that sacrosanct painting with drag queens, but they did it anyway."
"The Olympic organizers are a bunch of liberal nuts who have lost their minds."
In related news, it can be recalled that here in the Philippines, drag artist Pura Luka Vega also faced heavy criticism after allegedly "disrespecting" the "Our Father" prayer, which he used in a performance while impersonating Jesus Christ. As a result, he was declared persona non grata in various places, and several groups filed charges against him.
Meanwhile, the Paris Olympics administration has yet to issue an official statement regarding the issue.
