‘To my Potassium, Vitamin K!’ Grade 12 grad confesses to crush during graduation ceremony

Not only did Eds Karol Gatbonton's video clip inspire as he embarked on a new level of studies, but it also brought excitement as he confessed his feelings to his “special someone” through his graduation speech, being the recipient of the Gawad Sibol, the highest award that a senior high school graduate can receive at the National Teacher’s College (NTC).

In one part of his speech, Eds mentioned one by one the people who were part of his senior high school life to thank them. One of these was his all-time crush.

“To my Potassium, Vitamin K, from HUMSS 2, Miss Kaye Alvarez Bagasina, hi. Congrats, Kaye. Teka, nagba-blush ako, e,” he jokingly said.

“A, basta. Crush kita. I’ve always admired you from afar. And I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for motivating me to be the best version of myself para sa ‘yo,” he added.

Because of what Eds said, the entire World Trade Center was filled with excitement. There was a burst of loud cheers and screams from his fellow students.

Eds admitted in an interview that he had long wanted to confess his feelings to Kaye. However, he said it wasn’t part of his plan to do so during the graduation ceremony.

They were both members of their school's theater club, and he had originally planned to confess his feelings to her at their farewell party. However, Kaye happened to miss the event.

Eds shared that his crush on Kaye began when he was hospitalized due to potassium deficiency. Kaye was the only one who sent him a "Get well soon" message.

Currently, even though he has confessed his feelings to Kaye, they remain friends.

Eds completed his senior high school under the Technical-Vocational Livelihood (TVL) track, specifically in the Information and Communication Technology strand.
