MANILA, Philippines – Netizens applaud actor Gerald Anderson after he helped one family that was affected by high flood due to the continuous rain brought by habagat and typhoon 'Carina'.

In the X post of @TmaeOsanomae, the actor can be seen soaking wet as he tries to help one family that is affected by high flood.

Before helping the family, Gerald also greeted and said "hello po."

In the said video, Gerald can be seen trying to help a kid. The actor can also be seen trying to comfort the crying kid.

After he gets the kid, Gerald says "ako bahala sayo".

Meanwhile, the video uploader confirms that the video happened this Wednesday, July 24, in Sato Domingo, Quezon City.

“Kanina lang po sa Quezon City,” Tmae said.

Another netizen also commented on the said post and shared a photo of Gerald helping to transfer people that were affected by the flood.

@PascualLlyod: “We live just in front of where he is staying and this is him helping transport people.”

Because of his polite behavior, netizens were impressed by Gerald's action.

This was not the first time that Gerald was seen helping out in rescue operations. It can be recalled that in 2009, the then-20-year-old helped rescue his stranded neighbors in Vista Real Classica in Quezon City during Tropical Storm "Ondoy."

Gerald has been an active member of the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary (PCGA) unit since 2016. He currently serves as the Auxiliary Lieutenant Commander of the K9 Squadron, where his partner, actress Julia Barretto, has also been a member since 2021.

Typhoon 'Carina' and Southwest Monsoon or habagat brings continuous rain in Metro Manila and nearby provinces that resulted in high flood.

Earlier, a state of calamity has been declared in the National Capital Region by the Manila Council (MMC).

Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Benhur Abalos also recommended to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to put Metro Manila under a state of calamity.
