From Accounting to Education: Cebu grad who shifted degree program ranks top 9 in LET

Oftentimes, failures and uncertainties in life lead to the Lord's “redirection” to where you will truly bloom, like a flower placed in the right, fertile soil and suitable environment.

Just like the story of Loi Canino from Pinamungajan, Cebu, where she mentioned that what she thought was a failure in the decision she made in life actually became the reason for her to discover her true purpose.

Loi initially took up the degree program Bachelor of Science in Accountancy but did not finish it. She shifted to Bachelor of Elementary Education at the University of the Visayas-Toledo Campus in 2020. Loi realized that her heart wasn't in Accountancy because she feels a strong connection with children.

Loi has been an achiever since high school, even being the class valedictorian. So, when she entered Accountancy and felt that her heart wasn't in it, she didn't hesitate to change her degree program.

It seems that Loi did not regret her decision because she ranked 9th in the October 2022 Licensure Examination for Teachers-Elementary Level, with a rating of 92.80 percent.

She also received a cash incentive of P300,000 from her university due to this achievement.

Currently, she is teaching at her alma mater and plans to pursue a master's degree program. Congratulations, Loi!
