Are you familiar with the old proverb "Huli man daw at magaling, naihahabol din” which translates to "Though one may be late, if skilled, one can catch up.”
That’s relatable to Yanna Jillianne Cruz, Top 2 of May 2022 Certified Public Accountant Licensure Examination (CPALE).

It can be read on her June 2, 2022 Facebook post, “Thanks be to God. Hindi ko po ito magagawa without Your guidance. It is indeed true po na everything happens for a reason.”
“Sa lahat po ng nag-take ng CPALE, congratulations po sa ating lahat!!”
“Top 2 sa CPALE si Jennie!!!!”
Yanna said it took her three years before taking the board exam. She graduated in May 2019.
“This is it!! After sooooo many attempts to take the board exam, CPA na ako & may bonus pa!”
“Sabi ko sa sarili ko after I graduated last May 2019, na I will only write a long caption after I passed my board exam. Who would have known I'd only be doing this after three long years?”
Yanna explained that she was afraid to take the board exam because of the "pressure" she felt. She was an achiever during her time at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines Manila Campus. She was a member of various student organizations and participated in and won various contests.
“The pressure of graduating with flying colors is no joke. Sobrang bigat. The expectations surrounding me affect me so, so much. Muntik na nga ako mabaliw, eh, cheret!” she jokingly said.
Yanna didn't take the exam in October 2019 because of the mentioned pressure. When she was ready, it was postponed again due to the pandemic from 2020 to 2021.
When she applied to take the exam for May 2022, she didn't inform anyone because of the pressure and her fear of embarrassment if she failed, especially after being delayed for almost three years. Fortunately, she not only passed but also ranked second with a rating of 88.17%.
She said she didn't expect to make it to the top 10 because her only goal was to pass. She doesn't regret the delay in taking her board exam because it turns out the Lord had a plan for her. Currently, Yanna plans to broaden her professional skills in auditing. She is currently employed as an audit associate at an auditing firm.
Congratulations, Yanna!
