From broadcasting to med: Ex-volunteer reporter passes April 2024 Physician board exam

In life, you can do what you want, even if you pursue two or more college degrees.

Former “Bombo Radyo” volunteer reporter Dr. Hilary Ruth Angela A. Baylon, from Estancia, Iloilo, passed the April 2024 Physician Licensure Examination (PLE).

Before pursuing medicine, she took a Bachelor in Broadcasting degree at West Visayas State University and graduated in 2014.

Diversified in skills, when she started working as a volunteer reporter, she pursued a degree in Medicine at Our Lady of Fatima University-College of Medicine.

In the report of Bombo Radyo Iloilo 837kHz, she is one of the 1,906 who hurdled out of the 3,434 who took the licensure examination as released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).

In her appreciation Facebook post on February 1, 2022, Baylon individually thanked the people who helped him in his journey.

“Thank you very much to those who believed in me, that I'll be able to do this. Struggling was an understatement. I cannot count how many times I cried to sleep because I failed but thank you for always pulling me up and encouraging me to continue,” she said.

“And of course I credit everything to You, Lord. Mahibi na lang ko sa imo pag kapoy na ko but thank you very much for hearing me and accepting all of my sorrys (I might cry when I'm tired, but thank you very much for listening to me and accepting all of my apologies),” she added.

Congrats, Doc Hilary!
