MANILA, Philippines – Heads up, train commuters!

The Metro Rail Transit (MRT) and Light Rail Transit (LRT) will be suspending their operations for four days in lieu of the observance of Holy Week 2024 and to conduct their annual maintenance activities. Meanwhile, the Philippine National Railways (PNR) will stop its operations starting March 28 to give way for North-South Commuter Railway (NSCR) construction.
MRT-3
MRT-3 operations will be suspended from Maundy Thursday, March 28, until Easter Sunday, March 31.
Regular operating hours will be observed on Wednesday, March 27, with the last train trips at 9:30PM from North Avenue Station, and 10:09PM from Taft Avenue Station.
MRT-3 will resume its normal operations on Monday, April 1, with first train trips scheduled at 4:30AM from North Avenue Station, and 5:05AM from Taft Avenue Station.
LRT-2
The LRT-2 said it would shorten operating hours on Holy Wednesday. The first train will depart at 5 a.m., while the last trip is scheduled at 7 p.m.
There will be no operations as well on March 28-31, 2024.
Normal operations will resume on April 1.
LRT-1
LRT-1 operations from Baclaran Station to Fernando Poe Jr. Station and vice versa will be TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED from March 27 (Holy Wednesday) to March 31 (Easter Sunday).
Normal operations will resume on April 1.
PNR
PNR advised to halt their operations for the next five years starting Maundy Thursday.
The construction of the NSCR, a 147-kilometer urban railway network connecting Metro Manila to Pampanga and Laguna, is expected to last approximately until 2028.
