LIST: 100 best universities in the Philippines 2024

MANILA, Philippines – The University of the Philippines (UP)-Diliman led the list of 100 Philippine universities, according to independent metric-based ranking organization EduRank.

According to the latest rankings published on February 29, UP Diliman placed 374th out of 5,830 Asian universities and was ranked 1,367th in the 2024 global rating.

De La Salle University (DLSU) came in second place in the Philippines and 507th across Asia. It placed 1,752nd out of 14,131 universities worldwide.

Ateneo de Manila University was on third spot. It ranked 565th in Asia and 1,931st in the global rankings.

University of Santo Tomas (UST) was ranked fourth in the country while 836th in Asia. It was the 2,652nd in the global scale.

UP Los Baños came in fifth in the country and 869th in Asia. It was placed 2,761st on the 2024 global university list.

Based on an analysis of at least 500,000 citations from at least 58,000 academic publications, the EduRank rankings also take into consideration the prominence of a university’s alumni, as well as its reference database. According to EduRank, 45% of the ranking is from the university’s research performance, while another 45% is from its non-academic performance. The remaining 10% is from the prominence of the higher education institution’s alumni.

EduRank added that the best cities to study in the Philippines based on the number of universities and their ranks are in Quezon City, Manila, Los Baños, and Cebu.
