Roselyn Gunnawa from Kalinga flaunted her photo after the graduation ceremony while holding the cash bouquet.

But aside from the cash bouquet, there's actually a touching story behind the graduate's smile.

Gunnawa completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, majoring in Marketing Management with a specialization in Business Analytics, on January 26, 2024.

In her Facebook post dated January 26, 2024, Gunnawa expressed gratitude to the individuals who contributed to her success.

She dedicated her graduation to her parents, especially to her father who passed away in April 2022. Sadly, he didn't live to witness her graduation.

“This milestone is a testament that with determination and hardwork, coupled with His grace and a strong support system, everything is possible,” she said.

“To Papa, it pains me that you’re not physically with me to celebrate this milestone in my life but deep in my heart, I know that wherever you are, you are smiling proudly and clapping loudly- for your little girl has finally gotten her diploma. I owe this comfortable life to you and I owe it to myself to strive even harder to ensure that I will have the life I had always talked about with you.”

She expressed deep gratitude to her mother, acknowledging that despite not graduating with honors, the gift she received from her was still special. She mentioned that she would use it in a practical manner.

“To Mama, I genuinely do not know what good I have done in the past to deserve someone like you to call my mom. You make everything easy, mom. As the white hairs on your head and the wrinkles on your forehead become more visible each day, my desire to give you the world, because that’s what you deserve, just flourishes,” she said.

She received a flood of greetings along with encouraging words.

Congratulations, Roselyn!
