MANILA, Philippines – A magnitude 5.4 earthquake hit Ilocos Norte on Wednesday, February 7, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.
The tremor, happened at 12:05 PM, was initially measured by Phivolcs at 5.9-magnitude.
The quake struck at a depth of 30 kilometers about 15 kilometers northwest of Pagudpud in Ilocos Norte.
Phivolcs said the earthquake was of tectonic origin.
