Marcos to Filipinos: Enjoy long weekends this 2024

MANILA, Philippines – President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Thursday advised Filipinos to plan and enjoy their vacations, given the long weekends in 2024.

In a Facebook post, Marcos shared the list of 2024 Philippine holidays which shows that there will be at least four long weekends.

“Lubusin natin ang mga long weekend ngayong 2024 kasama ang ating pamilya at mga mahal sa buhay," Marcos said.

“Paghandaan din nating mabuti ang ating mga transaksyon at bakasyon para sa isang produktibo at masaganang taon," the president added.

Based on the list of holidays, Filipinos will enjoy a long weekend starting March 28 (Maundy Thursday) until April 1 (Easter Sunday).

March 28 (Maundy Thursday) and March 29 (Good Friday) are regular holidays, while March 30 (Black Saturday) is a special non-working day.

Philippine holidays 2024 January to March

There will be another long weekend on between August 24 (Saturday) until August 26 (Monday). Note that August 26 was declared regular holiday to commemorate National Heroes Day.

Plan ahead as well for long weekend from November 1 (Friday) to November 3 (Sunday). November 1 and November 2 are both special non-working days, in observance of All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days.

Filipinos will have more time their families from December 28 (Saturday) to December 31 (Tuesday), since December 30 (Rizal Day) is a regular holiday while December 31 (Last Day of the Year) is a special non-working day.
